ABOUT

The Wheatgrass Arts and Gallery first opened in June, 2014 by Mary Fahlgren in downtown Glasgow, MT.  The mission of the WAG is threefold. One, to provide a venue for local and regional artists to show and sell their art. Second, to educate and inspire the artist in all of us.  Finally, to build community through the visual arts.

To provide a public venue for local and regional artists.

The Wheatgrass Arts and Gallery houses ten permanent local artists.  In addition, it provides space for several commissioned artists.  On the first Friday of each month, the WAG spotlights an Artist of the Month with a wine and cheese reception.

To educate and inspire

Individual and group classes for all  ages and for all levels of abilities, in a variety of mediums. These can be arranged by calling/visiting the gallery or by participating in scheduled classes.

Social painting parties are also available upon request.

Classes will be posted under the Gallery Happenings tab as  they become scheduled.

To build community through the visual arts

The WAG organizes an annual Art in the Park event in Fort Peck.  This is an opportunity for artists near and far to share their wares, for locals to spend the day running into old friends, and to enjoy entertainment by various performing artists.  The Gallery has donated a portion of its proceeds from its fundraisers to various community projects such as the NE MT Veterans' Memorial,  Luke's 100 and The Pioneer Museum
